The OpenROAD Initiative (ORI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in February 2023 to advance open-source EDA tools for the semiconductor industry. By enabling a complete RTL-to-GDSII design flow, these tools support reproducible, transparent EDA research and allow rigorous validation of algorithmic innovations across diverse semiconductor applications.
