Projects

Starting with our flagship OpenROAD project, the OpenROAD Initiative seeks to support and grow a portfolio of open source EDA software and complementary projects.

OpenROAD

OpenROAD is a foundational tool for the design of integrated circuits, offering a fully autonomous open source layout generation capability from RTL to GDSII.

As a steward of the OpenROAD project, the OpenROAD Initiative is responsible for ensuring the long-term sustainability, neutrality, and technical excellence of the codebase.

NSF POSE II

Funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Pathways to Open-Source Ecosystems (POSE) Phase II project is an initiative aimed at establishing a robust governance and contribution model for OpenROAD.

As the project is led by the awardee team at UCSD, the OpenROAD Initiative partners closely with them to ensure the goals align with the long-term vision of the community.

Future Projects

As our organization grows, we plan to support additional open source EDA tools and complementary projects under our governance framework.
